Summer 2007 College to Career: Opportunities to Explore |

Jason Lao (St. Paul's Coeducational College, Hong Kong), Chris Daniels, and Victor Flores (Uniondale High School, NY) participated in the College to Career: Opportunities to Explore program. |
During two summer weeks in the lab, Jason, Victor and Chris designed, set up, and analyzed an experiment to test the effects of cold treatment and freezing on viability of spores and expansion of hyphae in Glomus etunicatum. This experiment was part of a larger project to develop a simple cryopreservation technique for arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Preliminary data were presented in a poster session at the end of the summer program. |
