Eyelash cups are bold and coquettish, and look as though they might wink at you. Their lurid colors
and habit of growing in crowds makes them pleasantly findable in the field. You can also find them
illustrated in most mushroom field guides, but almost all field guides will delude you into thinking
there's only one common species, when there are really a dozen or so. Field guides are good for big
colorful mushrooms, but not so useful for the bland, the brown, and the small.
