During Kent Loeffler's tenure, the Plant Pathology photo studio has expanded its services to include digital imaging -- photography, image manipulation, scanning and printing -- and now serves over 20 departments across the university. Loeffler continually experiments with new technologies and their applications to teaching and research.

When he joined Cornell in 1985, Loeffler had degrees in biology and biomedical photography. He brought with him experience photographing microorganisms for a protozoology textbook, as well as human and animal eyes for a medical school eye bank.
