Anoplophora stanleyana Hope is an example of one of the large, showy longhorned beetles of the family Cerambycidae. This species is a member of the same genus (Anoplophora) to which belongs the destructive and invasive Asian Longhorned Beetle (A. glabripennis) which has been found infesting streetside trees in New York City and Chicago.
