Graduate students Tiffany Jamann and Santiago Mideros, traveled in October 2009 to the International Livestock Research Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (IRLI- Addis). They were hosted by the forage diversity seed bank. While there they focused on improving the seed banks pathogen detection system. They were able to introduce and teach PCR-based methods to detecting fungi, viruses, and phytoplasmas.
