Welcome to the Hudler lab!

The goal of our research program is to learn enough about the etiology and ecology of significant tree diseases in New York State landscapes and nurseries to enable us to develop and test possible management strategies. We have the only research program in New York State with the express charge of studying tree diseases and communicating the results of our work to Cornell Cooperative Extension educators, plant health care professionals, nurserymen, and Christmas tree farmers. We publish BRANCHING OUT – An integrated pest management newsletter for trees and shrubs and we prepare an annual revision of that portion of the Cornell Guidelines for Commercial Production and Maintenance of Trees and Shrubs that contains recommendations for disease management.
