This 5 day, 18 hour time lapse movie begins with newly hatched larvae of viburnum leaf beetle (Pyrrhalta viburni) feeding on an arrowood leaf (Viburnum dentatum), which is one of their preferred hosts. The larvae feed gregariously and skeletonize viburnum foliage, leaving only midribs and major veins intact. Images were taken at 5 minute intervals.
