These little gumdrops aren't as commonly seen as their brash and bumptious alter ego,
Trichoderma. Yet Hypocrea and Trichoderma are different manifestations of the same fungus,
except this Hypocrea is busy having sex, and its spores are each as genetically distinct as our own
children. It's perplexing that fungi make different looking fruiting bodies at different stages of
their lives, isn't it? Just think of them as the caterpillar and the butterfly.
