At about 2 millimeters tall, this is the largest protostelid IN THE WORLD! Unless you've
taken my class (why haven't you?) you might not know that protostelids have traditionally been
mistaken for fungi, or slime molds, but that they're, you know, something else. In short, they're
amoebae that can turn themselves into spores. Most protostelids are so small
you can't even see 'em without a microscope.
